You may copy and paste text content from eText pages in the Engage reader (PDF content) and from EPUB pages in the EPUB reader, one page at a time without any batch limits.

Step-by-step guide: Engage reader

  1. Identify the text that you wish to copy from a page within the eText in the Engage reader. In the below example, the user would like to copy and paste the first sentence in the selected paragraph into a new document.

  2. To copy the first sentence: point, click, and drag your mouse to select the text you wish to copy. Performing this action will also highlight the selected content (by default) in the event a user wishes to create an annotation for the highlighted text.

  3. After highlighting the text you wish to copy, press the "Command + C" keys at the same time on your keyboard to copy the highlighted text.

  4. Locate the destination for which you wish to copy the text to and press the "Command + V" keys at the same time on your keyboard to paste the copied text. That's it!

  5. The highlighted text on the eText page in Engage will remain highlighted until a user deletes it. To remove the highlight, click directly on it to prompt the text box to appear. Select "Delete" at the bottom right of the text box to remove the highlight in the book.

Step-by-step guide: EPUB reader

  1. A user must first toggle the reading mode icon "off" before they are able to copy any text in an EPUB book. To do so, locate the reading mode icon at the bottom right of the frame, and click it to allow for the EPUB reader features to become visible in the frame.

  2. Identify the text that you wish to copy from the EPUB in the EPUB reader. In the below example, the user would like to copy and paste the first sentence in the selected paragraph into a new document.

  3. To copy the first sentence: point, click, and drag your mouse to select the text. The selected text will then appear in blue. After a user highlights the text and then releases their mouse, an action box will appear beside the highlighted passage. Use your mouse to scroll and click the "Copy text" option. This action will copy the highlighted text from the EPUB.

  4. Locate the destination for which you wish to copy the text to and press the "Command + V" keys at the same time on your keyboard to paste the copied text. Alternatively, a user may also right click using their mouse to paste the copied text. That's it!
